ASTON New Off-
line Nature Reserve (Section 3c)
Access adjacent to Aston Bottom Lock.
“Friends” of the Montgomery Canal visit the new nature reserve adjacent to Aston Bottom Lock on 22nd June 2008.
Seen here are a group of “Friends” by the bottom gate.
A new footbridge constructed over the bye-
weir below the bottom lock at Aston to provide access to the new nature reserve.
A stone seat has been constructed by the footbridge using spare stones left over from previous restoration work.

A deep drainage ditch travels along the side of the reserve. The bottom lock can be seen in the distance.
